Great music, great beer, and a fresh take on classical music!
Join NYS Baroque at Ithaca's own Liquid State Brewing Company for a relaxed evening of live music featuring Quartet Novalis, an exciting young string quartet bringing centuries-old music to life on historical instruments.
Whether you're a lifelong classical music lover or simply looking for something fun and different to do on a Sunday evening, this is a chance to experience extraordinary live music in a casual, welcoming setting. Grab a drink, settle in, and discover the incredible sounds of Fanny Mendelssohn, Dvořák, Mozart, and Puccini as you've rarely heard them before!
Based in New York City, Quartet Novalis features violinists Eliana Estrada and Ela Kodžas, violist Annemarie Schubert, and cellist Luka Stefanović. United by a spirit of curiosity and exploration, these exceptionally talented young musicians are reimagining the string quartet experience, drawing on historical performance traditions to bring fresh energy, expression, and perspective to beloved repertoire.
Celebrating 38 years of music-making in Ithaca, NYS Baroque is proud to present these musicians through its Young Artists Program, an initiative that supports the next generation of professional early musicians through mentorship, paid performance opportunities, and meaningful connections with audiences and communities.
We believe exceptional live music should be for everyone, and there's no better way to experience it than up close, in a space where you can relax, connect, and enjoy something beautiful together.
The concert is approximately one hour, without intermission. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome!
