Looking to upcycle your clothes and create something uniquely yours? Bring a piece of clothing you’d love to give new life to and join us for a hands-on creative workshop centered around patchwork, visible mending, and self-expression.In this workshop, you’ll learn how to hand-stitch and creatively upcycle your clothing using techniques such as patchwork, visible mending, grommets, painting, and more. You’ll be guided by Ruby Acquah, a self-taught textile artist, who will introduce you to different ways of transforming your clothing into wearable art.
No sewing experience is necessary! Whether you’ve been sewing for years or have never picked up a needle, this workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly and give you the freedom to experiment, create, and have fun.
Beyond creating one-of-a-kind pieces, this workshop is an opportunity to slow down, unwind, and explore creativity in a welcoming environment. You’ll learn sustainable ways to repair, customize, and extend the life of your clothing long after the workshop ends.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a piece of clothing featuring artwork you created yourself, along with new skills and ideas for continuing to upcycle your wardrobe.
