Disforia Punx & Sad House Daddy present Boom Boom Kid with support from Vaiapraia live at Biddle Bros. £5 suggested donation on the door!VAIAPRAIA
Hailing from Portugal's Setúbal bay, Vaiapraia is a London-based DIY songwriting and performance project that, from its humble solo beginnings in 2013, has since swelled into a collective endeavour. Over the last decade a rotating cast of bandmates, collaborators, performers and experiences have combined to mimic, honour and challenge the thresholds and traditions of pop/rock songcraft. Vaiapraia's wild live shows are raucous, catchy and queer. For Portuguese-speakers, the lyrics are at once cathartic, political and laden with poetic dissonance. For everyone else, the performance speaks for itself.

BOOM BOOM KID
Multifaceted minstrel, anti-fascist wanderer and iconoclastic frontman, Carlos Rodríguez aka Boom Boom Kid has been stirring up the Argentinian underground since 1989 when he first sang for the infamous Fun People. He has over 300 songs recorded across more than 20 releases (vinyl LPs, cassettes, singles and CDs), all issued, licensed, and distributed worldwide via his own label, Ugly Records. Boom Boom Kid is an ever-evolving artist blending hardcore, punk, rock metal, rockabilly, psychobilly and salsa with an internationalist spirit. His vocal range is distinctive and vast, spanning from the deepest guttural lows to the most challenging high notes; he even sings in a self-created language, a slang-infused concoction dubbed "tum tum lunfardo." Performing a rare solo show tonight!
