🌔🦋 Two events for you to discover the world of moths! 🦋🌔✨ INTRODUCTION TO THE WORLD OF MOTHS
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
outside the Mount Holdsworth Lodge in the Tararua Forest Park, Norfolk Road entrance
Spend the afternoon in the Tararua forest with Christopher Stephens and Jim O'Malley, our local Wairarapa lepidopterists. They will show you the world of moths and butterflies and demonstrate some simple citizen science tools you could use to explore your garden and projects.
Please register for this event by emailing [email protected] with your contact details and the number of other adults and children in your party. We will contact you if we need to postpone. Potential rain day will be 21 November.
✨ MOTH NIGHT LIFE
8:00 pm – 11:00 pm and overnight stay
Want to know more? If you're very keen, you could participate in some dusk netting, evening light trapping and photography of the moth night life with some overnight trapping on the same day. You would learn and practice some hands-on skills. Bring your camera and your curiosity; you could be part of some new discoveries.
Our moth men are staying overnight at the Mount Holdsworth Lodge. You will need to book your own accommodation at the Lodge https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/wellington-kapiti/places/tararua-forest-park/things-to-do/lodges/holdsworth-lodge/ and bring your own food.
There are limited places for this event. Once you've booked your accommodation, please register by emailing [email protected] with your contact details.
🌿🌿 This workshop is brought to you by WaiP2K and the Mangatarere Pekapeka Project.
