About this Event
This is the second annual Leduc DEAM rally organized by clients and staff from Leduc LINX Connect Center. This province-wide movement takes place on October 6th from 12-1pm.
We are excited to gather this year with the support of our local government leaders, employers and members of our community to share our passion for disability employment and the creation of meaningful opportunities for everyone.
Attendees are encouraged to wear a RED shirt to create a visual statement of support.
All are welcome to attend!
The Route
We will start at the Leduc Public Library parking lot and proceed North on 50th Street until 50th Ave. We will then cross the street and head back down 50th St towards the library where we will gather for a photo near the Alexandra Arena.
What is DEAM?
October is Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) across Canada and in Alberta. DEAM celebrates, educates, raises awareness and promotes employment inclusion within the job market for people with disabilities. Persons with disabilities face barriers to employment and each year DEAM provides an opportunity for employers, people with disabilities, service providers and Canadians to come together to act in removing barriers and creating a more inclusive economy. - aefn.ca
