We are being turned into batteries for a machine that demands endless consumption, while climate sacrifice zones keep expanding.
Join us for a performance of food preparation; at the end of the night, if all goes well, we’ll turn our hard-earned harvest into rice balls to go.
Come tell us what you insist on protecting, lend a hand, share your voice, and take home a piece of collective resistance. When we refuse together, titans can fall.
Bio:
Hui-Ying Tsai is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn and Taipei. Her practice centers on installation, site-specific performance, community engagement, and relational soundscapes, investigating the conductive mechanisms between body, matter, ecology, and spirituality. Approaching physical matter as a repository of labor, environmental shifts, and collective memory, Tsai parallels folk rituals with contemporary symbolism and technology through bodily experiences in public realms.
Kjerstin Rossi (b. 1983, Beijing, China) is a filmmaker who grew up in the Redwoods of California and lives in New York City. Working collectively and sharing skills is an intrinsic part of her practice and she continues to prioritize working with other queer filmmakers and artists. Kjerstin is passionate about facilitating the stories that urgently need to be told to make sense of our rapidly changing world.
