Join The Greening of Detroit for a vibrant and meaningful celebration of Día de los Muertos at Lafayette Greens Garden in downtown Detroit.
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a cherished cultural tradition that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed. This special community event will transform Lafayette Greens into a beautiful space of remembrance, reflection, and celebration of life.
Guests are invited to experience:
- A community ofrenda (altar) or decorate your own small individual ofrenda *Bring a photo or small memento(s)
- Traditional music and live performances
- Local refreshments and treats
Through this event, The Greening of Detroit continues its mission of bringing people together in green spaces to celebrate culture, community, and connection. Whether you come to honor a loved one or simply to learn and experience the beauty of this tradition, all are welcome.
