“Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4In the spirit of memento mori—remember your death—and the ancient Catholic traditions surrounding All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints, and All Souls, Brahms’s masterwork invites us to look beyond the fleeting things of this world and contemplate the eternal.
Join the Joshua Chorale, accompanied by full orchestra and soprano and baritone soloists, for Johannes Brahms’s monumental Ein Deutsches Requiem—a breathtaking meditation on mortality, grief, and the consolation found in hope.
Within the historic walls of Detroit’s Senate Theater, experience an evening of profound beauty and reflection through one of the greatest choral works ever composed.
