Teratoma was summoned in early 2020 by 5 friends from four different countries - boasting with a diverse musical background - who all met in Berlin's underbelly and decided to play their own version of filthy and crushing death metal. After the first year crafting material that came to be the band's debut album, they self-recorded those songs during 2021. Early on 2022, 'Purulent Manifestations' was released via Transylvanian Recordings in the USA and by Avantgarde Music (as Unorthodox Emanations) and Desiccated Productions in Europe, receiving great accolades of reviews across the globe.
The first live appearances followed with hefty performances alongside the likes of Convulse and Hyperdontia. The album is virtually sold out at this point, only a couple of months after its initial release.
