(NL) Met De Nacht van de vertraging nodigen DE SINGEL en Klara je uit voor een bijzondere dag én nacht, gedragen door muziek en performance. Samen maken we een reis door het gebouw en verkennen we de vele dimensies van klank en stilte. Uur na uur vertraagt de tijd en keren we naar binnen. Je beleeft ceremonies, tranceachtige muziek, dans en concerten die de grenzen tussen verschillende klankwerelden aftasten.
Met de terugkeer van Anouar Brahem en het bejubelde My Fierce Ignorant Step van Christos Papadopoulos start het festival in de grote zalen. Daarna verkennen we de tussenruimtes en kleinere zalen van DE SINGEL, telkens met unieke luisterervaringen. Op het Kunstenplein klinkt de hele nacht door Vexations van Erik Satie. In de Theaterstudio duikt het duo Heinali en Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko in de visionaire muziek van Hildegard van Bingen, verweven met droneachtige elektronica. Ondertussen rekt Traveling Light van Rafael Toral de tijd op met jazzstandards in slow motion.
Welkom voor 24 uur in DE SINGEL: om te luisteren, te rusten, te slapen en opnieuw wakker te worden. Het volledige programma wordt bekendgemaakt in september 2026.
(EN) With The Night of Slowing Down, DE SINGEL and Klara invite you to a unique day and night, underpinned by music and performance. Together, we embark on a journey through the building, exploring the many dimensions of sound and silence. Hour by hour, time slows and we turn inward. You will experience ceremonies, trance-like music, dance, and concerts that probe the boundaries between different sound worlds.
With the return of Anouar Brahem and the acclaimed My Fierce Ignorant Step by Christos Papadopoulos, the festival begins in the big halls. Afterwards, we explore DE SINGEL’s in-between spaces and smaller halls, each offering unique listening experiences. On the Kunstplein, Erik Satie's Vexations will sound out through the night. In the Theatre Studio, the duo Heinali and Andriana-Yaroslava Saienko delve into the visionary music of Hildegard von Bingen, interwoven with drone-like electronics. Meanwhile, Rafael Toral’s Travelling Light stretches time with jazz standards in slow motion.
Welcome to 24 hours at DE SINGEL: to listen, to rest, to sleep, and to wake up again. The full programme will be announced in September 2026.
