We are delighted to invite you to a very special event at Morley College featuring acclaimed New York pianist, composer, educator and bandleader David Berkman.
This is a rare opportunity to learn from one of the leading figures in contemporary jazz. David has been a major presence on the New York jazz scene for more than three decades and has performed and recorded with artists including Sonny Stitt, Tom Harrell, Brian Blade, Chris Potter, Dave Douglas and the Vanguard Orchestra.
Workshop – Open to All Music Students 16.00 - 18.00
The workshop is open to everyone, regardless of instrument, musical style, level or previous jazz experience. You do not need to be a jazz player to participate.
David is renowned internationally as an educator and author of influential books including The Jazz Musician's Guide to Creative Practicing and The Jazz Harmony Book, which are used in music schools around the world. The session will offer valuable insights into creativity, improvisation, composition, listening, practising and musical expression that can benefit musicians from any background.
