ABOUT DANIELLE NICOLE
If you love blues with some grit, soul and serious musicianship behind it, this is a show you don't want to miss.
Danielle Nicole first made her mark as a founding member of the Kansas City blues-rock band Trampled Under Foot before launching a solo career that has earned national recognition, a Grammy nomination and 10 Blues Music Awards.
Her distinctive bass playing made history when she became the first woman ever nominated for the Blues Foundation's Instrumentalist – Bass award, and later the first woman to win the honor.
Her solo albums have climbed the Billboard Blues charts, including Cry No More, which debuted at #1 and earned a Grammy nomination. Her newest album, Fireflies, continues to build on a sound that mixes blues, rock and soul with Danielle's unmistakable vocals and bass work.
Blues legend Koko Taylor may have said it best:
"That girl gets down to the nitty gritty."
ABOUT MATT WOODS
Opening the night is Iowa-born singer-songwriter Matt Woods, bringing his own roots-driven sound to the stage before Danielle Nicole and her band take over.
