About this Event
Dance Temple Vancouver is taking over Rolla Skate Club for a major all-ages launch event, held by two of the people who built Dance Temple from the ground up.
Dance Temple co-founders Naomi Jason and Lila Spencer will bring the full practice into the room: grounded facilitation, a body-led musical journey and a dance floor big enough for the city to properly let go.
The session begins with a simple facilitated arrival, rises through a DJ-led musical journey, then lands with a shared closing. There is no choreography and no experience needed. Come to dance hard, move quietly, take a break or follow whatever feels right for your body.

WHAT IS DANCE TEMPLE?
Dance Temple has been bringing people together through music and movement since 2010, beginning on Salt Spring Island and growing into a network of locally held dance communities.
Dance Temple Vancouver carries that practice into the city with all-ages conscious dance events for people who care about music and want somewhere to properly let go. Each gathering combines light facilitation with a carefully shaped DJ journey, moving from a grounded arrival into a full-bodied peak and back down again.
Dance Temple is substance-free and welcomes different ages, bodies, genders, backgrounds and levels of dance experience.
DANCE-FLOOR AGREEMENTS
Move your way. Listen to your body, respect your limits and give other dancers room to do the same.
Consent matters. Look for clear eye contact and welcoming body language before joining another person's dance. A person can change their mind at any time.
Keep conversation off the dance floor. Laughter, cheering and spontaneous sounds are welcome.
Phones and cameras stay off the dance floor. We will clearly announce any official photography and provide a way to opt out.
Children are part of the Dance Temple community. Parents and caregivers remain responsible for supervising their children throughout the session.
Please come scent-free and wear clean indoor shoes, sneakers or socks. Everyone is asked to keep their shirt on throughout the session.
WHAT TO BRING
A water bottle, comfortable clothing, a small towel if you expect to sweat, and clean indoor shoes or socks.
Dance Temple Vancouver gathers on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
