Once your plants are in the ground, consistent care makes the difference between plants that simply survive and plants that truly thrive.
This practical class will cover the essential tasks involved in caring for flowers, herbs, and other garden plants throughout the growing season.
Participants will learn:
• How to water deeply and effectively
• How to adjust watering based on weather and plant needs
• The benefits of mulch and how to apply it correctly
• Basic fertilizer types and application timing
• How and when to stake or support plants
• Tips for improving airflow and reducing plant stress
• How to observe plants and respond to common problems
• General maintenance practices for a productive garden

Flower, vegetable, and herb starts will be available for purchase to help you get started. Specialty plugs will be available in November by pre-order.
The class will be held outdoors and may include hands-on demonstrations. Please bring water and dress for working in the garden. Closed-toe shoes, sun protection, and a notebook are recommended.
