Fort Churchill was built during WWII to combat the Nazis, but after the war it quickly morphed to take on the perceived Soviet threat. As a joint operation by Canada and the United States, numerous arduous field trials and bizarre scientific experiments took place in order to protect North America from Soviet invasion. Curator of History Dr. Roland Sawatzky explains how the Cold War was never more frigid than at Fort Churchill.
