Poder del Pueblo, MasPaz, Bus Boys and Poets and Bad Vibes Good Friends are excited to organize this powerful Cumbia workshop with Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto. Get ready to learn from a millenary tradition from the Maestros themselves at the Cumbia Workshop with Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto! Join us in person and dive into the rhythm of cumbia with these legendary musicians. We will have an opportunity to learn first hand how Cumbia (música de gaita) originated from the interaction of Afro-Colombians who hid in the mountains of the Caribbean with indigenous people.
We will have drums and gaitas for you to explore. No prior experience necessary. But if you have a drum, bring it! This will be a bi-lingual space.
