A women's only, Islamic based day retreat on the Amanah of Speech, Sound and Silence
About this Event

Join us for a reflective afternoon retreat exploring the amanah of our voice in Islam—through speech, silence, and sound. In a world of constant noise and expression, this retreat invites us to pause and consider how our voice is entrusted to us: when to speak, when to remain silent, and how our words shape our relationship with Allah and with others.

Through guided reflections, discussion, and experiential exercises, we will explore the voice in worship, the miracle of speech, and the responsibility of speaking truth.

The afternoon will gently move toward stillness, closing with a sound bath to help integrate the reflections of the day.

During this retreat we will:

• Reflect on the role of the voice in worship, truth, and silence through guided reflections and discussion

• Explore the miracle of speech and the responsibility of our words in Islamic teachings

• Experience moments of stillness and a closing sound bath to integrate the day’s reflections

About the sound bath

The day will include a 30-minute sound bath, where participants will be invited to lie down and rest while a combination of crystal singing bowls and gentle percussion instruments create a layered soundscape.

These resonant tones help the body settle and the mind slow down, often guiding participants into a deeply relaxed, reflective state. The session offers a quiet space to rest, integrate the reflections from the day, and simply be.

No experience is needed at all, it is beginner friendly and a passive session. Come as you are.

Who this retreat is for

This retreat is for women who are seeking a thoughtful and reflective space to explore the role of speech and silence in their spiritual lives. You do not need any prior experience with retreats or sound baths—just a willingness to pause, reflect, and engage with the themes of the day.

What to expect on the day

With arrivals from 1.15pm, the retreat will start promptly at 2:00pm and end at 6:00pm and will include guided reflections, small group discussions, quiet moments of contemplation, and a closing 30-minute sound bath.

Tea, coffee, and light snacks will be available during the afternoon (no main meal will be served).

For the sound bath, eye masks will be provided to help participants relax and settle into the experience.

Please note that the venue is located on the 4th floor and is accessible by lift and stairs.

What you may leave with

Participants often leave with a deeper awareness of how they use their voice in daily life and worship. Through reflection, discussion, and moments of stillness, the retreat offers space to reconsider when to speak, when to pause, and how our words can carry intention, truth, and care.

The afternoon is designed to be calm, reflective, and restorative—offering both thoughtful discussion and quiet integration.

Booking

Spaces are intentionally limited to keep the retreat setting intimate and reflective.
