🎞️ ANIMATION AS DOCUMENTARY LANGUAGECan animation tell the truth in ways live-action can’t?
Join Copenhagen Short Film Festival for a masterclass with award-winning director and animator Martina Scarpelli, exploring the space between animation, documentary, truth and fiction.
Drawing from her work on EGG, TRINE ON FIRE and the upcoming feature documentary I AM EVERY WOMAN, Scarpelli takes us behind the scenes of her creative process and explores how animation can become a language for representing reality on screen.
Through film examples, behind-the-scenes material and personal experience, the talk moves between documentary practice, personal storytelling and hybrid cinema, while opening up a broader conversation about what happens when animation meets the real world.
Martina Scarpelli is an Italian director, animator, producer and creative director based in Denmark. Her work has received more than 50 international awards, and her short film EGG was shortlisted for the César Awards in 2020.
