About this Event
A radical, in Latin, is a root. The four musicians onstage tonight grew theirs elsewhere—Owen Dalby in the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt in the Dover Quartet, Alexi Kenney and Oliver Herbert in solo careers that keep circling back to chamber music—and bring them together, for one night, as a single quartet. The program runs from Crowden alumna Gabriella Smith's "Carrot Revolution," through Schnittke's Third Quartet, which opens by quoting the theme of the "Grosse Fuge," to Beethoven's Op. 130 with that fugue restored as its finale.
