Cross-cultural road user communication workshop

The ways we communicate on the road are varied and can differ considerably between countries. These differences have important implications for road safety, driver education, transport policy, and the future development of connected and autonomous vehicles. Understanding how road users interpret and use communication can help us develop safer roads for everyone.

During this workshop, researchers from the University of Nottingham and the University of Leeds will present our latest findings from a collaborative Malaysia-UK research programme examining cross-cultural differences in road user communication. The workshop will also provide an opportunity to discuss how these findings can inform future road safety interventions, driver education, policy, and emerging vehicle technologies.

This workshop is suitable for researchers, policymakers, road safety professionals, industry representatives, and anyone with an interest in driver behaviour and transport safety.
