Join Patrycja Nowacka for a hands-on special effects make-up workshop exploring how to create convincing creature wounds and claw marks. Drawing on her extensive make-up effects background and screen work, the session will guide participants through designing and applying realistic effects, with an emphasis on practical technique, texture, and finish.Patrycja's credits include work on major productions such as 28 Years Later (2025), 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026), The Rig (2023), and Lore (2023). This workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from a professional make-up effects artist with experience on high-profile film and television projects.
Participants will have the opportunity to practise creating creature-style wounds and claw marks for themselves, learning how to build up the effect in stages and add depth, realism, and bloodied detail. The session is suitable for anyone interested in creature make-up, special effects, or Halloween-style prosthetic work.
We will be joined by model Joe Duffy, who will work alongside Patrycja during the demonstration. This gives attendees the chance to see the effect being applied in real time, ask questions about placement and anatomy, and understand how the look translates on a live model before trying it themselves.
