About this Event
Join Sheila Nemcsok, also known as the “Portsmouth Urban Forager,” for an engaging workshop exploring the garlic mustard plant.
Together, we’ll learn how to identify garlic mustard, an invasive plant, and discover why it is considered an ecological hazard. We’ll explore creative and delicious ways to use this abundant plant in the kitchen, transforming it into flavorful pesto, homemade mustard, and a horseradish-like condiment. Come discover how to turn an environmental challenge into a culinary opportunity while deepening your connection to the natural world around you!
A passionate foraging educator, Sheila brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, holding a Certificate in Plant Medicine from Cornell University, a Master Naturalist Certificate from Lakehead University, and having completed Cornell University’s Master Food Preserver Program.
