Come vibe, share your art, and spread good vibes at our mixed open mic jam! This edition, we're asking the question, how can we spark joy?
About this Event

Creating Joy is a series of heartfelt, informal mixed arts jams bringing together music, song, poetry, and dance in one spontaneous, infectious, and joyful space. Real stories, shared “by the people, for the people” — open to all ages, all levels, and every enthusiast.

For this edition of Creating Joy: Sparking Joy, we're inviting everyone to explore how you spark joy in yourself or someone else. Because joy is infectious - and in these challenging times, we need to bring light to the heart of us more than ever.

How can we be the bright spark that causes a chain of dominoes, a ripple of joy spreading out beyond us? How does someone else’s joy spark our own? When times are tough, how can sparking joy be an act of courage and community?

Come down and join us for a night of good fun and special moments after work! We’ll have a vibrant mix of performers ready to share their stories and spark joy with you, plus some great singalong tunes. We always keep open-mic slots free on the night for any spontaneous performers excited to join us in creating some amazing times together. The event is free, register here to book your free spot!

Want to perform? Bring a song, a poem, a dance, something uniquely yours that shows how you spark joy in yourself or someone you care for. You don't have to be professional. No auditions. No pressure. Just passionate people creating together. Keen to perform or volunteer, fill in the form here!

About Creating Joy

We’re building our Creating Joy community — a community of people who believe in the joy of creating together. Creating Joy is a mixed arts jam series bringing together music, song, spoken word, poetry, and dance in one spontaneous, joyful space. It’s for anyone who has ever tapped their foot to a beat, mouthed the words to a song, or felt something stir when they watched someone perform. No auditions, no pressure, no professionals-only. Just people creating together, because it’s beautiful and because we need it.

About the Organisers

Creating Joy was co-founded by three Singaporeans who believe that creativity belongs to everyone and that joy is always worth making room for.

Meghana Vinai
Meghana Vinai is a multidisciplinary artist and communications professional, and founder of Sonder Ink — a creative label that works with artists and arts organisations on branding, marketing, and creative strategy.

Elaine Teo
Elaine Teo is The Mindful Hedonist — a coach, psychologist, meditation teacher, community-builder, and musician who guides people to unlock the simple pleasures of being alive. Through her philosophy of Mindful Hedonism, she shows others how to cultivate joy, connect, and savour life in all its beauty. This in turn drives powerful performance — in all its forms.

Imelda Tan
Imelda Tan is an arts appreciator and the founder of Artskakis, which provides coordination services across arts, culture, creativity, and learning in Singapore.
