About this Event
Join Manchester City of Sanctuary for a FREE networking lunch and training on the power of conversation to bridge divides and challenge hate and prejudice in school.
With the spread of misinformation and rising hostility towards people seeking sanctuary, migrants and other minoritised groups, teachers and educators are hearing hostile or discriminatory comments more often in the classroom. This training, designed by City of Sanctuary UK, is aimed at equipping teachers and educators with the skills and confidence to navigate these moments as learning opportunities: bridging divides and fostering shared values through thoughtful, non-judgemental conversations.
In partnership with the national Schools of Sanctuary programme, Manchester City of Sanctuary are organising a FREE lunch and in-person training to schools in the network across Greater Manchester to access this training, and network with other schools and partners to exchange ideas on how to challenge hate and foster safe and kinds schools and communities. In this train-the-trainer style session, participants will leave with access to the powerpoint and facilitators notes so they can deliver this training to colleagues in school.
