Sept. 24, 2026, will be the place to meet all your candidates running for Dawson Creek council this fall – at Co-op Mercer Hall at the Ovintiv Events Centre.
This Week in Dawson Creek publisher Rob Brown returns as he did in 2018 and 2022 to moderate the Dawson Creek councillor candidates forum on Sept. 24, 2026, in Co-op Mercer Hall. Doors at 6:30 pm, with hopeful candidates having time to mingle before taking the stage at approximately 7:00 pm.
“As of today, no candidates have publicly announced intentions of running, only not seeking re-election, so all who eventually do announce and are officially registered as candidates are invited to attend,” says Brown.
Brown has hosted DC candidate and mayoral debates throughout the South Peace and western Canada over his 28-year journalism career, including the last decade in Dawson Creek.
“We will, of course, attempt our live feed as we have in the past for those who cannot attend in person," says Brown.
“If the live feed doesn’t happen for technical reasons, we will certainly have a video recording of the evening that night for those who missed attending in person.”
“Each of these has always resulted in a great night of open discussions, and this one should be even more enlightening, as we get to hear community feedback firsthand, get to know our candidates a bit better, as well as learn about their thoughts on a range of municipal issues.”
The public can enter Co-op Mercer Hall through the lower lobby doors of the Ovintiv Events Centre, which are located adjacent to the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre entrance.

Doors at 6:30 pm, with councillor candidates taking the stage at approximately 7:00 pm.
