*Please note this training is targeted to staff members who undertake the role of Council Officer with Adult Support and Protection cases.
This 1 day refresher training is for designated Council Officers who have previously undertaken Council Officer Training, and those whose day to day work may involves inquiries/investigations where an adult is known or believed to be 'at risk'.
This session will seek to refresh the skills, knowledge and duties required of a Council Officer, working within the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) 2007 Act.
Learning outcomes:
- Consider the duties, powers and role of a Council Officer as defined within the Adult Support & Protection (Scotland) Act 2007
- Explore the link between adult’s capacity, consent and compliance
- Application of the three point criteria
- Creation and use of Risk Assessments and Risk Management Plans
- Discuss best practice around Case Conference
- Use of Protection Orders in practice
Venue:
Training will take place at West Lothian Civic Centre.
Refreshments will not be provided during the session. There are nearby facilities for you to purchase teas/coffees and lunch where required.
