Tour Itinerary
Morning Departure | 07:45 AM
Gather your belongings and meet your dedicated tour coach and driver at Gosport Ferry for a prompt morning departure. Step aboard our modern, comfortable coach as the day begins to unfold. Once everyone is settled, we slip away from the morning hustle and trace our route northwards into the heart of the countryside. Crossing into Oxfordshire, keep an eye out the window as quiet hamlets, historic thatched cottages, and centuries of heritage line our path.
Burford | 10:15 AM – 11:50 AM
Our first stop brings us to Burford, famously celebrated as the “Gateway to the Cotswolds.” Positioned dramatically at the top of a sweeping hill, this historic wool town offers a breathtaking opening vista over the Windrush Valley. Enjoy free time to wander at your own leisure down the iconic, steeply sloping High Street. Browse independent boutiques, antique shops, and charming tearooms tucked away inside centuries-old golden limestone buildings or stroll down to the historic medieval bridge that spans the tranquil River Windrush.
Bourton-on-the-Water (Lunch Stop) | 12:15 PM – 13:45 PM
Next, we arrive in Bourton-on-the-Water, known far and wide as the “Venice of the Cotswolds.” Framed by leafy banks and wide, grassy verges, this postcard-perfect village is famous for its elegant, low-arched stone bridges spanning the crystal-clear waters of the River Windrush.
Use this extended stop to relax and enjoy the afternoon at your own pace:
Dining & Pub Lunches: Settle into one of the traditional stone pubs for a hearty warm lunch or visit local tea rooms to enjoy a fresh cream tea.
Picnic on the Green: Gather local goods from village bakeries and delis to enjoy a relaxing picnic right on the grassy banks of the river.
Village Sightseeing: Take a gentle stroll along the waterside paths, browse independent gift shops, or visit local attractions like the Model Village, the Dragonfly Maze, or the Cotswold Motor Museum.
Stow-on-the-Wold | 14:25 PM – 16:30 PM
We reboard our coach for a scenic 10-mile drive to Stow-on-the-Wold. Perched high on an 800-foot hill at the junction of seven major roads—including the historic Roman Fosse Way—this ancient market town is steeped in rich commercial heritage.
During our final stop, you'll have plenty of time to explore:
Browse Independent Shops & Galleries: Wander through narrow “Tures”—traditional pedestrian alleys designed to herd sheep into the square—now home to fine art galleries, antique dealers, and craft boutiques.
Visit St. Edward’s Church: Walk to medieval St. Edward’s Church to see its famous north doorway. Framed by two ancient yew trees grown directly into the stonework, this enchanting entrance is widely rumoured to have inspired J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Doors of Durin” in The Lord of the Rings.
Discover Historic Landmarks: See the ancient village stocks sitting on the green, admire the grand honey-coloured stone townhouses, or relax with a beverage in one of England’s oldest historic inns.
Return Journey | 16:30 PM
Reboard the coach for a comfortable drive back home, arriving back into Gosport at approximately 19:30 PM.
