The event will feature free costumes, recycling resources, and a Creature Lab from ReMix It, where participants can create their own "monster" using recycled materials. Do you have old costumes you would like to give new life to? Drop them off during normal operating hours on donation collection dates leading up to the swap event.
By donating, reusing, and being creative, we can reduce costume waste, keeping the scary out of our landfill.
Donation Collection
Date: Oct. 3 –15
Time: During normal operating hours (follow signage)
Items collected: Clean, and gently used costumes, hats, masks, and trick-or-treat bags
Locations: Lake Julian ranger station, West Asheville Library, Pack Library, and Asheville City Hall
Costume Swap & Creative Use Workshop
Date: Saturday, Oct. 17
Time: Noon – 4 p.m.
Location: Stephens-Lee Community Center - 30 George Washington Carver Ave., Asheville
Details: Leave a costume, take a costume, or make a “creature” craft using recycled materials! This is a fun, family-friendly event for all ages. No donation is required to participate.
