This October, Lavendra invites you to experience Cooking with Country, a special dining experience bringing together Indian ancestral cuisine and Aboriginal Australian ingredients on Cammeraygal Country.The program has been created in collaboration with Aboriginal artists and knowledge keepers, bringing together food, culture, storytelling, music and art in an immersive dining experience.
Across the month, guests will experience Lavendra’s Cooking with Country tasting menu, featuring native Australian ingredients accompanied by guided education and storytelling. The experience also incorporates bush-dyed table runners by Jodie Dow and original menu artwork by Emma Hicks, with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander playlist accompanying weeknight dining.
The program begins with a special Opening Night on Friday, 10 October, with doors opening from 6:00 PM. The evening will include a smoking ceremony led by Uncle Billy MacPherson (Kamilaroi and Kooma), spoken words by Aunty Jeanie Moran, live music bringing together didgeridoo and Indian classical Carnatic music, and the full Cooking with Country tasting menu with guided education on each ingredient.
Every Saturday throughout October, guests can choose between two seatings at 6:00 PM or 8:00 PM, with the tasting menu, Indigenous ingredient education, live music and spoken words forming part of the experience.
From Monday to Friday throughout October, the Cooking with Country tasting menu will be served each night, accompanied by Indigenous ingredient education, bush-dyed table runners, Emma Hicks’ original menu artwork and an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander playlist.
* Opening Night: $299 per person for food only | $349 per person with drinks pairing
* Monday–Friday: $99 per person for the tasting menu
* Saturdays: $149 per person for the tasting menu | $249 per person with drinks pairing
