Get ready for five days of singing, dancing, and performing at the Conservatory Musical Theatre Showcase. Students from the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts’ youth musical theatre programs are sure to dazzle and delight the audience with their triple threat status.Performances on DAY 4 (Wednesday, January 13) will include the following (in performance order):
Junior Glee (Wednesday, 6:30pm class) present choral music from Disney’s Tangled. This group is directed by Erika Folnović.
Senior Glee (Thursday class) presents Disney’s The Little Mermaid KIDS. Explore the mysterious fathoms below in Disney's The Little Mermaid KIDS. Young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her father's underwater kingdom and live in the human world above. When she strikes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs, she quickly realizes the bargain is not what it seems. Soon, Ariel must enlist the help of friends Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to win the heart of Prince Eric and discover where she truly belongs. Adapted from the Broadway production and animated feature film, The Little Mermaid KIDS is an enchanting theatrical journey of friendship, acceptance, and finding your true voice. Featuring music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, this shortened 30-minute version includes the iconic songs "Part of Your World," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and "Under the Sea," along with music written exclusively for the stage. Music by Alan Menken. Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater. Book by Doug Wright. Based on the Hans Christian Andersen story and the Disney film. Disney’s The Little Mermaid KIDS is directed by Katlyn Redding and Gillian Engen.
There will be a short transition break between Junior Glee and Senior Glee just to reset the stage and coordinate students.
There will be a 15-minute intermission between shows just to reset the stage.
Tickets are $12.60 in advance and $15.75 at the door, inclusive of fees and taxes. Seating is not assigned. Tickets can be purchased from the Darke Hall Box Office (306-523-2751) or online by using the "Find Tickets" link in this event.
