More Than the Game: Identity, Mental Health & Finding Purpose Beyond Performance
So much of our identity can become tied to what we do, how we perform, and how others see us. In this session, panelists will explore the intersection of identity and mental health through their own lived experiences — from navigating pressure and expectations to understanding who they are beyond performance, competition, or a title. Together, they’ll discuss how those identities evolve through different stages of life, what it means to protect your mental health along the way, and how challenges can reshape your sense of purpose. The conversation will also explore how athletes can use their voice, platform, and personal experiences as a vehicle for change, while encouraging students to think more broadly about who they are, what defines them, and who they want to become next.
