Dear Friends and Family,We are very happy to welcome Paka Kamanawa back to Finland. It has been some time since his last visit and many of us have missed his presence and music.
Paka is the Cacique (chief) of Timbauba village, where he takes great care of his people. Through him and Mana, we have the opportunity to experience the powerful force of the Jaguar Family, Kamanawa of the Noke Koi.
Pakas work was already remarkable during his previous visits, but the development since then has been going even more forward. His studies have gone deeper, with more profound chants and a rich, dedicated exploration of the guitar.
Paks music combines more relaxed and spacious moments with faster parts, creating a beautiful balance that is a joy to listen to and dance with.
We are truly happy to have him back in Finland and look forward to sharing his music and teachings once again.
Mana Kamanawa, Paka’s nephew, is one of his main students. He is bringing more Kamanawa force in the field and he is excellent with drumming combining beautifully Pakas guitar.
Paka’s wife, the beautiful Rora Varinawa, cannot join us this time as she is expecting a baby and will stay in the village. To bring feminine energy and support to the space, Tamara Kamanette will be joining us.
