Join White Rose Forest for a community planting day at Top O'Th' Hill and help continue the transformation of this beautiful hillside into a thriving woodland.
Every tree planted brings us one step closer to creating a richer home for wildlife and a greener future for the local area. It's a chance to get outdoors, meet like-minded people, and be part of something that will grow for generations to come.
Whether you've planted trees before or you're picking up a spade for the first time, everyone is welcome. No experience is needed. We'll provide the tools, guidance and plenty of encouragement throughout the day.

Join us at Top O'Th' Hill, Walsden, where we're continuing work to create a new woodland that will support wildlife, improve the local landscape and deliver lasting environmental benefits for years to come.
Over the coming years, this growing woodland will provide valuable habitat for wildlife, help slow the flow of water, enhance the landscape and contribute to a healthier environment for future generations. By volunteering, you'll be helping this vision become a reality.

10:00am - 10:05am Welcome & Introductions
10:05am - 10:10am Walk to Planting Area
10:10am - 10:30am Safety Briefing & Planting Demonstration
10:30am - 12:30pm Planting Session
12:30pm - 1:00pm Lunch Break
1:00pm - 2:30pm Planting Session
2:30pm - 3:00pm Return to Meeting Point
3:00pm Goodbyes
🎒 What to Bring
- Warm layers and waterproof clothing
- Sturdy boots or wellies (terrain can be uneven and sometimes steep)
- Gardening gloves (if you have them)
- Lunch, snacks and plenty of water
All tools, planting equipment and materials will be provided.
🚶 Access & Parking
Top O'Th' Hill is a natural woodland site with uneven and sometimes steep terrain. Please take care when moving around the site.
There is no parking at the site entrance and only limited parking on nearby residential streets. Walking, car sharing or public transport is encouraged wherever possible.

By joining this National Tree Week planting day, you'll be helping continue the creation of a woodland that will support wildlife, enhance the landscape and deliver long-term environmental benefits to the surrounding area.
