About this Event
Community Learning Event #1: Everyday Democracy: Living out the values of the Reggio Approach in early childhood and elementary classrooms
Join us in person (on election day!) at our first community learning event to explore the connections between the values of the Reggio Emilia approach and classroom practices that enact everyday democracy in early childhood and elementary education.
---
Children's rights show up in daily choices about time, space, listening, and decision-making power. Join us for discussion, observation of the classroom and atelier spaces, and a hands-on workshop to think more deeply about how the decisions we make every day with children — the materials we use, the spaces we create, the routines we build — can make our learning communities more democratic, just, and sustainable.
Participants will leave with ideas and strategies for transforming their own classrooms into democratic learning environments. Time for networking will also be given — this work doesn't happen alone!
---
Please wear weather-appropriate clothes, as we will plan to end our session outdoors at the Muddy River!
Then we invite you to go out and vote!
---
School rates available for 3+ teachers. Reach out to discuss!
