It's that time of the year again when we start thinking about willow lanterns. In 2026 we are once again kicking off the Festive season with Newquay Lantern Parade and Trenance Cottages Light Switch On event. This year it's happening on Friday 20th November 2026 from 5.30pm.Also, we'll once again be offering our free Community Lantern Making Workshop, happening on 14th November from 10.30am – 3pm at the CSpace in Newquay. Families are welcome to join us on the day to have a go at making a willow lantern and then come along to the parade on the 20th Nov to parade their amazing creations. At last year’s workshop we had almost 100 people through the door and some incredible, inventive lanterns were made.
We can’t wait to see what our creative community come up with this Nov.
No need to book just turn up on the day.
All the Newquay Lantern Parade events and activity in 2026 has been made possible with support from Newquay BID, Wax Events, Atlantic Hotel and Newquay Town Council Events.
