Why are we running this workshop?
• To build confidence within the community to use the defibrillators gifted to us by the STA (you’ll recognise ours from swims — it’s the one in the green safety bag).
• To help you feel comfortable asking to borrow it for your own swim adventures. It’s available for anyone in the swim group to take with them on trips, walks or swims.
• To increase awareness and confidence in using defibs in and around the community and when out and about.
• To help save a life.
What to expect from this workshop
• Hands on experience using a practice defibrillator
• Videos and discussions about different types of defibs
• Practical resuscitation practice using Resuscitation Annie
• Real world scenarios to help you feel confident using a defib in the community, outdoors, or during swim activities
• Supportive guidance from St Abbs Lifeboat volunteers and Brave Bayers team members
