About this Event
This time the theme is something special: dishes from childhood. Crab salad, "shuba" (herring under a fur coat), Olivier, vareniki — and everything that smells like home, like grandma's kitchen, like memories for each of us.
🗓 November 15th, Sunday, 14:30–18:00
📍 Boizenburger Str. 54, 12619 Berlin
➡️ Registration required, participation is free
🍴 What to expect:
— cooking together and lots of delicious food;
— childhood dishes and stories from different cultures;
— music and small games without competition;
— a "just be" zone: tea, coffee, snacks, conversations, rest;
— a chance to meet people and connect at your own pace.
Facilitators and volunteers will help with navigation: they'll explain what's happening, offer options for participation, and support those who are new. No special skills needed — just the wish to spend time together and help create a positive atmosphere.
The gathering is open to people with different cultural and life experiences: new and long-time residents, people with migration experience, queer people, refugees, and anyone who wants to meet part of our local community. Come cook, taste, meet people — and simply have a good time together.
The event is supported by the federal program "Demokratie leben!" (BMFSFJ), the Partnerschaft für Demokratie Hellersdorf, the Jugendamt Marzahn-Hellersdorf, and the Senatsverwaltung für Arbeit, Soziales, Gleichstellung, Integration, Vielfalt und Antidiskriminierung.
