About this Event
Comics and video games have many connections, especially in Dundee, where these are two of the most prominent creative industries. This illustrated talk and Q&A will explore the exciting links between comics and games, with an emphasis on the relationship between storytelling and play, and past and possible future convergences between comics and games. The event, aimed at the general public and anyone interested in storytelling, gaming, creativity, and the relationship between media, will also feature the launch of a free comic about comics and games. This event takes place at Water’s Edge at Dundee’s City Quay, home of the CoStar Realtime Lab.
This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 5-14th November 2026. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
