About the school:
The Instituto Universitário Naroman Esperansa (IUNE) is a government accredited teacher‑training college in Gleno, Ermera, Timor Leste. It is about 1.5 hours from Dili depending on the road slides and potholes.
IUNE’s students are future teachers with heroic levels of determination. They travel from rural villages, juggle study with family and often work, study in three languages and remain funny, resourceful, and absolutely committed to becoming the educators who will shape Timor‑Leste’s next generation.
This comedy fundraiser celebrates them and raises funds to provide scholarships to support their studies. These amazing students can handle anything life throws at them, sudden power shortages, tropical storms, and get to college even when the road runs like a river. The only thing that can prevent them for their mission is financial support for their studies.
