✍🏾 What Is Come Write With Us?
Come Write With Us is a monthly HOCA creative writing experience designed to give writers and creatives a space to slow down, explore their creativity, and connect with others through the power of words.
Each month, we explore a new theme through a series of original writing prompts. You’ll choose the prompt that speaks to you, take time to write, and then have the opportunity to share your work and thoughts with the room.
You don’t have to be a professional writer, and you don’t need to come with a finished piece. Whether you write poetry, fiction, journal entries, stories, or you’re simply looking for a new way to express yourself, there’s space for you here.
✍🏾 What to Expect
• Welcome + Introductions
Get settled, meet the room, and learn about the month’s theme.
• Choose Your Prompt
You’ll be given three prompts and choose the one that speaks to you.
• Create
You’ll have 25 minutes of uninterrupted writing time to explore your chosen prompt.
• Share
We’ll come back together and open the floor for anyone who wants to share. Sharing is always optional.
• Break + Connect
Take a moment to reset, grab something, and connect with other creatives.
• Create Again
We’ll return with three new prompts and another 25-minute writing session.
• Final Share + Reflection
We’ll come back together one final time to share, reflect, and close out the experience.
