About this Event
Colours of Pain: Playtest Invitation
We’re inviting a small group of people to help playtest Colours of Pain, Ali’s work-in-progress workshop, at Shoreditch Town Hall.
This is a small playtest session, so we are looking for people who are happy to take part and give honest, supportive feedback. Your feedback will help shape the next stage of the work.
Date: Thursday 11 June
Time: 1 to 4pm
Venue: Shoreditch Town Hall
Refreshments: Provided
Colours of Pain is a gentle, peer-led workshop exploring the links between pain, mental health and healing through art, sound, movement and reflection.
During the session, participants will create simple artwork using pastels before moving into a gentle somatic sound and movement exercise. The workshop will close with discussion, reflection and grounding exercises.
The workshop uses pastel drawing as a gentle way to externalise and explore sensations of pain. Rather than focusing on artistic skill, participants are invited to use colour, pressure, shape and movement to give form to experiences. This then moves into creating associated sounds and movements into a group composition.
We are especially keen to welcome people living with long-term health conditions involving pain or pain management. No previous art, movement or performance experience is needed.
This is a small playtest session, so we are looking for people who are happy to take part and give honest, supportive feedback. Your feedback will help shape the next stage of the work.
