COLLECT YOUR FREE PEA GROWING KIT!! Calling all residents in Drake (and Plymouth!)
Come along on Saturday 24th of October, anytime from 11:30am-2:30pm, to Greenbank Community Centre ( 55 Greenbank Rd, Greenbank, Plymouth PL4 8PE) , and pick up your FREE pea shoot growing kit!!
These kits come with everything you need to grow your own pea shoots, at home on a windowsill!! We’ll give you compost, peas, and a container to grow the peas in- all you need is water and a windowsill!
Spread the word and come along- we’ll have a few community organisations working around food and sustainability in attendance too.
Drake has some of the lowest access to greenspace in the city- and we wanted to do something about it. The benefits of growing your own are huge- from improved mental wellbeing, to food sovereignty- growing your own should be accessible to everyone!
That’s why, over the past few months, I’ve been working with an amazing group of volunteers to put this together- it’s been no small feat! From donations of the peas, the amazing Plymouth Scrapstore, Dawsteps and Beatrice for donating the bags and recycled materials, Ricky from Climate Action Plymouth giving us tonnes of organic compost, to the amazing Mrs Browns Bakery hosting our action days, and Greenbank community centre hosting us- THANK YOU- it’s finally here!!!!
