Cohen is a young, brilliant & inventive melodeon & anglo concertina player & a glorious singer with a deep understanding of traditional music & a powerful, compelling style of his own. He’s in great demand at folk music festivals & clubs as a solo performer & with the trio Granny’s Attic.Cohen will give us two forty-five minute sets and the rest of the evening is filled by members of the audience doing a song or tune if they wish. Everyone is welcome, especially if you'd like to sing or play. We mostly sing and play traditional music from the British Isles, but we enjoy other styles as well. We always start off with some English dance tunes for anyone with an instrument to join in.
This is a Bring Your Own Booze (& glasses) venue. Bring bottles or collect draught Harveys from the excellent Brewers Arms next door.
During the day Cohen leads a melodeon workshop from 10:45 - 16:15 at Westgate Chapel. Places are £45 adults, 2 under-25-year-olds £22. Email valmaigoodyear[at]aol[dot]com to reserve places, bring cash on the day.
We have a loyalty card. Six visits earn you £5 off an evening of your choice. It's £12 cash tonight. Email valmaigoodyear[at]aol[dot]com to reserve places, bring cash on the night.
