About this Event

You've tasted coffee. Now let's feel it! Join our hands-on Coffee Talk to explore texture, mouthfeel and sensory science through fun tasting

You taste your coffee. But have you ever felt it?

Coffee isn’t just about flavour and aroma. It’s also about how it feels in your mouth.

Silky, creamy, juicy, velvety, tea-like, or even a little drying. These are all sensations you can experience in a cup of coffee. And there’s some fascinating sensory science behind them!

Join us for a hands-on sensory workshop where we’ll explore the world of coffee texture and mouthfeel through fun experiments, guided tastings, and a few unexpected discoveries.

We’ll learn how to recognize different textures, explore body, viscosity, and astringency, and discover how mouthfeel shapes our overall coffee experience.

No coffee expertise needed. Just curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to experience your favourite drink in a completely different way.

You’ve tasted coffee. Now let’s feel it.
Limited spots available.

HOST: Kayla Morris
Kayla is the Head Roaster, Sensory Specialist & Educator at JAVA ROASTERS, with over 15 years of experience in the specialty coffee industry and two Cup Tasters Championship titles.

A big part of her work is dedicated to sensory - an area of coffee she remains endlessly curious about. Her approach combines sensory science with the exploration of flavour, aroma and perception, with a strong focus on sensory analysis, calibration and cup quality.

Over the years, Kayla has also developed her own sensory methodology for teaching and training, helping people understand not only what they taste, but how they perceive and interpret what’s in the cup.
