About this Event
Welcome to Coffee, Cakes & Journals, a casual journalling meetup organised by Desy (she/her) from Cute Stickers Only and Leo McJames (she/her). We are two journallers based in South Wales who love to meet fellow journallers, planners or sticker collectors alike and spend a cosy afternoon chatting about all things stationery over coffee and cakes!
We are officially turning ONE! Our very first meetup happened on 18th October 2025, and we decided it was too good an opportunity to pass up celebrating on the anniversary date. Join us on Sunday 18th October at Brodies Coffee - On The Wall Castle Street, Cardiff at 12pm.
This month we have a few celebratory activities planned for this special edition of our regular meets:
- We'll be creating a Coffee, Cakes and Journals anniversary spread in our journals. Bring along any party-themed stickers, washi and other supplies ready to create your masterpiece! Alternatively you could do a cafe theme or a general stationery theme!
- As our meetups are as much about the people as the journalling, we'd love to have a piece of you in everyone's CCJ anniversary spread, so bring along a favourite sticker or a sticker that represents you to share with your fellow attendees. They could just be tiny icon stickers, nothing big, but if you are unable to bring any please don't stress, feel free to doodle or sign other people's journals!
- We have some other fun things planned to mark the occasion! We'd recommend you join our WhatsApp community if you are able so you can join in some of the extra activities ahead of the event! Since one of these things involves cake (it's in our name, after all!) please note we will be providing a vegan, gluten and nut-free cake. If you have any other dietary requirements that we need to take into account - please let us know ASAP!
Feel free to also bring your journals, planners, or any other project you want to work on for the remainder of the time. Whether you are new to journalling, an avid journaller, a seasoned planner, or a sticker collector - you are more than welcome to join!
We will be providing cake (!), materials and extra surprises this month, so have added a suggested donation for tickets - if you are able to, a suggested donation of £5 or £3 concession will help cover our costs. Donations can be made online or in cash on the day, whichever suits you best. And if you're not able to donate right now, please don't let that stop you coming along, we'd still love to see you there! Note that any excess donations will go towards our future events.
Brodies Coffee have kindly offered to host our meetup so please do purchase a hot drink or two. They also serve lunch, feel free to check out the menu.
You are invited to join our Facebook group (optional) so we could meet and chat beforehand. We also have a WhatsApp group chat so we could easily find each other on the day, please ask to be added after RSVP-ing.

PS: If you are feeling nervous, or anxious about walking in to the event on your own - please get in touch with one of us. We both completely understand this feeling, and will be happy to meet you ahead of time so we can arrive together, or help in any other way we can! We would hate for you to miss out on the event. :)
