Format
Sign up as a coed pair – each round, you’ll be combined with another coed pair to make a coed quad (2 guys, 2 girls).
The tournament will consist of three pools (rounds) – in each, there will be 4 or 5 pairs depending on registration numbers. You’ll play one game with each possible pair in your pool, for a total of 3 or 4 sets. Your scores from each pool will be used to create the subsequent pool, with the third pools being sorted by overall performance up to that point. The winners of the top pool in round 3 receive the 1st overall placement in the tournament, and the grand prize of items totaling ~$100 in value - this may be a Wilson OPTX, free court time, custom champion shirts, etc. The winners of each OTHER final round pool will receive $8 in store credit.
We will also use the back row rule used in Denver’s CRPTs – the most recent server is considered back row, meaning they cannot attack above the height of the net, nor block, until someone else on your team goes back to serve. This is to ensure that a very strong hitter/blocker has some time away from the net, and to require teams to occasionally play different positions and roles for a bit!
