About this Event
Join us as our graduating cohorts take the stage for an extraordinary end-of-year season celebrating artistry, individuality and fearless performance. Across four bold and contrasting works, CODA showcases the exceptional talent and versatility of Transit’s Pre-Professional Performing Arts, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and High School Academy students. Each work brings its own distinct world to the stage, capturing the creativity, passion and ambition of the next generation of performers.
From the raw vulnerability and self-discovery of SORROW TREE and the shifting human connections of THE PULSE, to the visceral intensity of THE SONG IS ALMOST OVER… and the glitter-soaked glam-rock rebellion of TEAR ME DOWN, this exhilarating program moves through dance, music and theatre with energy and conviction. CODA is a celebration of growth, courage and artistic identity, bringing together four unique works in a powerful finale to the year.
SORROW TREE (by High School Academy)
Choreographed by Kim Adam.
Inspired by the music of Joni in the Moon, SORROW TREE is an evocative exploration of self-discovery, connection and the strength found in vulnerability. Celebrating individuality, artistry and the freedom to own one’s movement identity, the work gives its young performers space to move with authenticity and courage. Raw, expressive and deeply human, SORROW TREE is a celebration of finding strength in who you are.
THE SONG IS ALMOST OVER... (by Pre-Professional Contemporary)
Choreographed by Jayden Hicks, assisted by Kaitlin Malone
One night that refuses to end. THE SONG IS ALMOST OVER… unfolds within a wasteland of thought, memory and becoming, a world suspended at the edge of its own ending, where the past refuses to disappear and the future has yet to arrive. Haunting, visceral and deeply atmospheric, the work explores the beauty and inevitability of letting go, confronting the fragile truth that just because something is beautiful doesn’t mean it was meant to last forever.
TEAR ME DOWN (by Pre-Professional Musical Theatre)
Directed, choreographed and staged by Andrew Hallsworth.
Musically Directed by Jack Hollander
Step into the glitter-soaked, high-voltage world of a New York glam-rock party, where the music is loud, the heels are high and the drama is delicious. Featuring iconic music from The Rocky Horror Show, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Head Over Heels, Lazarus and We Will Rock You, TEAR ME DOWN explodes onto the stage with musical theatre anthems, electrifying production numbers, outrageous characters and powerhouse vocals. Bold, rebellious and unapologetically theatrical, this is glam rock turned all the way up.
THE PULSE (by Pre-Professional Performing Arts)
Directed and choreographed by Jack Chambers
An electrifying exploration of the energy that moves through us and between us. THE PULSE traces the shifting dynamics of human connection, where rhythm and instinct draw bodies together, push them apart and transform the way we move and respond. Moving through attraction, intimacy, tension and isolation, the work captures the invisible forces that connect us in a charged celebration of movement, energy and human connection.
Strictly limited season. Book today to avoid disappointment.
