Houston, 1962. Two surgeons invent silicone breast implants, forever changing the worlds of beauty and medicine. But as fame, love, scandal, lawsuits, and lives collide, their revolutionary creation comes with consequences no one could have predicted. This laugh-out-loud, larger-than-life musical, described by Texas Monthly as "Hamilton with breasts," was conceived by Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. Ron Friedman and co-written with Laura Goodenow. Directed by Rebecca Lowrey, "cleaVage" brings the unbelievable (but true) history of silicone gel implants to the stage with comedy, music and heart.
In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the production is also partnering with Tuman Breast Cancer Foundation, a North Texas nonprofit assiting women financially and emotionally throughout their breast cancer journey.
