About this Event
Peterborough, this is your Citizen Hub.
On Friday 6th November, The BRDG on Bridge Street opens as Citizen Hub Peterborough for the first time and we want the city in the room.
From 9am to 9pm, come in, explore the space, meet the people involved and help shape what this place becomes. Stay ten minutes or stay for hours. There's no programme to sit through and nothing you need to prepare.
What's happening across the day:
- Guided tours of the space
- Idea walls and co-design activities
- Tea, coffee and soft drinks
- The Citizen Hub team and local partners to talk to
- Young people involved from the college and social enterprise partners
- Focused conversations on skills, employment, health, community and place
Focused conversations schedule to be published soon. Come for the one that matters to you or come whenever suits.
This isn't a finished product. It's the start of a conversation with the city and what you tell us will shape what the Hub becomes.
What is a Citizen Hub?
Citizen Hub is a locally-led movement that drives positive, lasting change in communities.
We work with communities to create places that offer safety, build curiosity and enable growth from the ground up. By bringing together citizens, local businesses, education and services, we create the right environment for people and places to thrive.
At its heart is a simple belief that everyone deserves to feel they matter, have their voice heard and their presence felt.
We share power, not just space. For everyone, always.
Peterborough will be the third Citizen Hub in the UK, after St Neots and Wimbledon. It won't be a copy of either. It will be shaped by the people of Peterborough and this open day is where that starts.
Citizen Hub Peterborough is being built in partnership with Inspire Education Group, whose team has run The BRDG since the summer very successfully, this is the evolution of their commitment to the city and it is thanks to them we chose to bring our national and regional network to support the people of Peterborough.
