About this Event
The claims landscape is changing. So are we.
The CILA Claims Professionals' Conference returns to the ICC Birmingham on Thursday 24 September 2026 - and this year marks a pivotal moment in its evolution.
Shaped by loss adjusters and built around the expertise at the heart of the claim, this year's conference opens its doors to the wider claims community. Because when complex losses occur, the work doesn't stop with the adjuster - it extends across handlers, risk managers, legal specialists and many more. Bringing more of that community into the same room means stronger collaboration, sharper decision-making, and more consistent, well-informed claim resolution.
As CILA prepares to become the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusting, the 2026 conference is the live expression of that shift - a forum that unites professionals across the claims landscape in a shared commitment to fair policyholder outcomes.
Who is this conference for?
This event is built for professionals across the full claims value chain, including:
• Loss adjusters
• Loss assessors
• Claims handlers and claims managers (insurer and TPA side)
• Risk managers and corporate risk teams
• Legal advisors, dispute resolution and coverage specialists
• Restoration, reinstatement and supply chain professionals
• Cyber response and technical specialists
• Brokers and MGA claims teams
• Finance and forensic accounting professionals
If you are part of the claims ecosystem - whatever your role - this is your conference.
The programme
At the heart of this year's conference are real-world case study sessions - behind-the-scenes accounts of how some of the most significant claims of recent years were handled, investigated and resolved. Blending technical analysis with expert storytelling, panel discussion and facilitated Q&A, these sessions offer valuable insight into the decisions made, the outcomes achieved and the lessons learned.
A keynote speaker will feature as part of the day, alongside an opening plenary thought leadership session.
CPD, networking and exhibition
The full day programme qualifies for seven CPD hours, keeping your professional development on track as well as your knowledge sharp.
Throughout the day there are dedicated opportunities to network with peers and explore the sponsor exhibition, featuring specialist service providers who support the profession.
Gala Dinner
We invite conference delegates and guests to round off the day in style at the CILA Gala Dinner. Begin with a drinks reception starting at 18:00 before enjoying an evening of fine dining, engaging conversation and a speaker you will be talking about on the way home.
After-dinner speaker: Andrew 'Vern' Stokes OBE
Andrew 'Vern' Stokes OBE brings over three decades of leadership from a distinguished British Army career. He is best known for planning and delivering some of the UK's most high-profile ceremonial events, including the state funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Andrew offers a unique perspective on leadership under pressure, complex risk management, and delivering excellence in the most scrutinised environments - insights that resonate strongly with everyone working in the claims profession.
